The Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed bin Muhammad Al-Issa issued a decision to establish a unit for digital transformation in the ministry, provided that the unit is linked administratively, financially and organizationally to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Boys. The establishment of this unit comes in the context of the Ministry’s efforts to accelerate the digital transformation in education, and to enhance the use of the most prominent modern technologies that support education. In addition, this unit will undertake a number of tasks that will contribute to supporting the ministry’s future directions in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which gives a great emphasis on the importance of technology and its role in advancing the various vital sectors in the Kingdom
In addition, it will be responsible for preparing digital transformation plans for education, communicating with relevant authorities inside and outside the Kingdom, and coordinating with education departments with regard to projects and programs for digital transformation. Furthermore, it will prepare reports and follow up on the implementation of the ministry’s programs and work related to digital transformation, such as ” Future Gate “, ” Virtual School “, and ” All of Us are Online ” Projects, which is implemented by the Ministry in cooperation with a number of national and international agencies.
Dr. Nayaf Al-Jabri, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Education (Boys), has appreciated the Minister of Education’s decision to establish the unit, stressing that the establishment comes within the framework of the Ministry’s relentless efforts to develop the educational process in the Kingdom. Moreover, As the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 laid down an integrated vision for the development of education, this step comes in a way that contributes to achieving the aspirations of our wise leadership, which gives education the utmost attention and spares no effort in order to provide the ingredients of success for it. Now, the Kingdom has begun to reap the fruits of 2030 Vision, and what the Ministry seeks to continue working with to achieve the status that we all aspire to be achieved by Saudi education in the near future. On this occasion, Al-Jabri extended his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his trustworthy Crown Prince, Prince Muhammad bin Salman – may Allah protect them – for their continuous support for education in the Kingdom. He also expressed his appreciation for the great care of His Excellency the Minister of Education and His Excellency his deputy to lead the educational process in an optimal manner, in order to ensure the achievement of the goals related to education within the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. In the same context, the Director of the Transformation Towards Digital Education Initiative (Gateway to the Future), Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Shehri said, that this decision reflects the Ministry’s interest in regulating the level of work related to digital transformation, especially since the Kingdom’s current directives stress the need to accelerate digital transformation in various vital sectors. This decision was confirmed by the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman – may Allah protect him – who opened a wide field for various sectors in the Kingdom to benefit from the most prominent and latest global technologies that support digital transformation, by signing a number of memorandums of understanding with major international companies in this field.
